New Crib, High Chair & Toy Chest Arrive! - 31 Weeks!

Today we welcomed our new crib, toy chest and highchair.  These were all made by Amish craftsmen at Weaver Furniture in Shipshewana, IN.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind.  It started last weekend when we went on a public tour of the hospital that were were planning to have the baby.  While it was a brand new hospital, and close to Yolonda's parents, after visiting, we both felt that having our baby there wasn't going to be what we had envisioned.  Our original plan from the start was to have a home birth with a midwife, but opted to go the hospital route for the first baby since it was mostly all covered by our insurance.  We had also thought during this process that going to Goshen to the Birth Center would be an option, but really didn't want to commute the 45 minutes.  But, once seeing the hospital and not feeling comfortable there we thought again about the Birth Center.  So to make a long story short, we have now moved to having the birth in Goshen at the Birth Center.  We had our first birth class there last week and will for the next 5 weeks.  Yolonda and I feel much more comfortable with this move, even though it means a little more money out of pocket and a little more of a commute.

So that is where life is at this point.  We are experiencing winter finally here in South Bend, with an inch or so this weekend.  We have arrived at 31 weeks and thought it would be appropriate to show our progress!

23 Weeks and doing well!

It's hard to believe, but we have made it over half way through our pregnancy and are doing well.  It hasn't been an easy road, but we are getting through it. Here are some things that we've we've discovered about the life of being pregnant..

* Being tired... this usually occurs after working a full day at work.
* Going to bed every night around 9 or 9:30pm.
* Discovered that Yolonda doesn't like and or her stomach won't agree with   any tomato products.
* Taking naps are still good, even more now since the nights aren't always very restful.
Those are just some of the things that I can think of at this moment that we've learned so far. We're on track and looking good.  Yolonda and I are looking forward to visiting family in Vancouver over Christmas... and yes we did get approval from our doctor....
